PRO TIPS:
- Book your hotel stay for the whole time in Buenos Aires, even though you will double book for the Iguazú day. Then you can leave your bigger luggage at the hotel and just bring a backpack for the day trip.
- We booked an Airbnb Experience tour for the soccer game and highly recommend it. We would not have gone to a soccer game without a local (it’s very hard for tourists to get tickets, and safety was a concern) and the Airbnb Experience was great!
- Doing our city tour during our first full day of Argentina was great because it gave us a good lay of the land and understanding of the city, we saw some of the highlights and discovered places we’d like to come back to on our own time with our other days in the city.
- The Tango show in BA is probably touristy, but worth it! The venue we went to was very intimate and your ticket can include transportation to and from the show, along with a meal before as well.
- In Iguazú Falls, we reserved private transportation to and from the park. There is a cheaper public bus that departs from the city center, but this allowed us to be some of the first people in the park. We caught the first train to Devil’s Throat and basically had the entire thing to ourselves.
- Do not miss the Choripán in La Boca. It’s a super touristy restaurant, but the best one we had.
- Do the ice bar in the Glacier Museum near El Calafate.
- Weather is unpredictable, and there is no gas in Torres Del Paine. For those reasons we planned an extra full day in the region just in case we had some bad weather and needed an entire day to leave the park and refuel. We were very glad we built in some extra time because we did have one day of bad weather and it was the perfect day to drive to Puerto Natales.
- The timing for Perito Moreno Glacier is a bit misleading. The ticket booth is 30 minutes before google says you have arrived to the park. So if you want to get to the park at 8 when it opens, you will likely get to the ticket booth at 7:30.
