  • Borough Market

  • See a show at West End (we saw Mean Girls at Savoy Theatre)
  • The British Museum (get tickets beforehand, it’s free but the lines are long)
  • King’s Cross Train Station (Harry Potter fans!)
  • Wander around Chelsea – tour the Chelsea Football Club stadium 
  • Take the double-decker buses around the city to cover more ground and rest your legs! 

LONDON FOOD AND DRINK:

  • The Black Pig – amazing sandwiches, Borough Market
  • The Ginger Pig – sausage balls, Borough Market
  • Old Queen Street Cafe – great breakfast by Westminster Abbey
  • Flight Club – drinks and darts!
  • Eat at Bag O Nails – a pub near Buckingham Palace
  • Pret! – coffee
  • The Coal Hole – a pub near Savoy Theatre
  • The Devonshire – Guiness – Ed Sheeran’s go to spot
  • Kings Arms Chelsea – a pub near Stamford Bridge
  • Friend at Hand – another pub!
  • Tamil Prince – Indian food in Angel, Islington
  • Any pub you can find that isn’t packed!

PRO TIPS:

  1. Explore the Islington neighborhood (our friend lived here, so we spent a lot of time in this area!) – walk along Camden Passage and the canal! 
  2. If you are going at Christmas time, there are so many Christmas markets around the city 
  3. See Christmas lights on Regent Street, Oxford Street and Carnaby Street
  4. Also explore Convent Gardens for lights and a Christmas market 
  5. Watch the fireworks on New Years Eve at the London Eye (buy a ticket beforehand) 

ONE DAY – OXFORD

  • Wander all the streets (We didn’t plan ahead with any tickets, but it was still so lovely to get lost in the streets)
  • Stop by Turf Tavern, if you can’t find a seat to have a drink, still stop by to see it!
  • Eat at Wig and Pen 
  • Tour the Divinity School (We could get in within the hour, a neat thing to see if you like Harry Potter)
  • Enjoy the Christmas markets around town 
  • The Covered Market – so cute (Colombia Coffee Roasters is a great stop for an afternoon pick me up)
  • Get lost in Westgate for some shopping!
  • Enjoy dinner at Porthouse! (Also our hotel)

A FEW HOURS – MUNICH

  • Train into Marienplatz
  • See the Rathaus-Glockenspiel (check to see the times it runs)
  • Walk around the area and enjoy Christmas markets – get bratwursts and Glühwein (We went in late December)
  • Visit the Residenz Museum
  • Grab a seat midday at Hofbräuhaus München and enjoy a beer and pretzel!
