My Turn by Johan Cruyff

This project involved a full redesign of the book cover for My Turn, the autobiography of football legend Johan Cruyff. The original cover used a bold orange backdrop, a single action image, and high-profile quotes to emphasize Cruyff’s iconic status. While visually striking, the design relied heavily on celebrity endorsements and lacked visual depth.

In the redesign, I aimed to enrich the storytelling by incorporating a grid-based layout that weaves together historical imagery, team insignias, and portraits of Cruyff across his career. The new design highlights key moments from his time at Ajax, Barcelona, and the Dutch national team, while a cohesive visual language ties the front, spine, and back together.
